Jewelry Designer and Bead Artist: Pam Brisse
 "Artist" is just one of the many things I get to play at these days - and my favorite, second only to playing Mom to my amazing son, Luke. I live in the adorable sea-side town of Edmonds, Washington, just north of Seattle, with my husband Frank, Luke, a big black dog named Zoe, and a cat named Tyger.
In many ways I have been designing and creating things pretty much my whole life. My love of jewelry started at an early age when my grandmother would let me explore the treasures in her jewelry box.
By the age of 10, I was creating elaborate bead and macrame necklaces, bracelets and anklets for all my friends and family to wear. Later it was painting, photography, glass and stone mosaics, and creating spectacular Halloween costumes (ah - that Tinkerbell with the lights in the skirt and those sparkling feathery wings!).
In college, one of my jobs was working part-time selling fine jewelry and I fleetingly considered changing my major to become a jewelry designer. I nevertheless stayed the course and graduated with a degree in Marketing and Business — building a career designing and developing Web sites. Since 1998, I have owned and operated a successful Web design company – WebMosaics, specializing in small, women-owned businesses.
Needing a hobby after the birth of my son, I picked up beading and fell in love with jewelry and jewelry making all over again. Before long I was taking jewelry making and lampwork bead classes at the local college and setting up a warm glass studio in my house so that I could make my own glass beads... and so — The Blue Between was begun.

Wearing a piece of designer jewelry from The Blue Between is like wearing a piece of art — each one-of-a-kind necklace, bracelet, or pair of earrings is made from the finest sterling silver, artisan lampwork glass beads and pendants, semi-precious gemstones, pearls, crystals and glass beads, and is handcrafted using time-honored beading techniques including stringing, weaving, knotting, and wirework. Many of the components in each piece are handmade and unique; some are never to be duplicated. Each finished piece of jewelry is an inspired original, a beautiful piece of wearable art.
About the name The Blue Between
The name The Blue Between was inspired by a childrens' poem by Kristine O'Connell George:
"Everyone watches clouds,
naming creatures they've seen.
I see the sky differently,
I see the blue between—"
To me, Seeing The Blue Between represents the artist's eye, daring to live life in your own unique way.
